Fleet Tutors offers experienced SEN tutors who specialise in teaching pupils with dyslexia, ADHD, dyspraxia and other learning difficulties. Below is a list of the current specialised SEN tutors we can provide. However, our list is updated regularly as we register new qualified special needs tutors so please contact us if you require tutoring for an area not yet listed.
Our SEN tutors are specialised to tutor at different levels from primary tutoring and secondary tutoring to university tutoring and adult education. Our tutors provide tailored tuition to suit the students’ individual needs. Our special needs tutors develop a tailored programme of tuition for each student which starts by completing an Individual Tuition Plan (ITP) with the student during the first tutoring session in order to determine what specific areas need to be covered and to define the tuition goals and objectives.
All of Fleet Tutors’ SEN tutors are required to have relevant teaching or tutoring experience. Many of our private tutors are qualified teachers; others are experienced tutors with high class degrees. All must have up to date knowledge of the various teaching styles involved with SEN students and many hold specific SEN qualifications. Depending on the learner’s needs, we can offer home school tutoring or online tuition.

Alicia has been tutoring for eight years, supporting students with English language and literature at all levels and for all major exams. She has also worked with mature students to build confidence in their study of English and achieve the qualifications they need to progress.
Every one of our SEN tutors are qualified with either QTS or a degree in taught subjects, so you can be confident they will not only help your child with a personalised learning experience, but they can understand any specific issues and ability levels. This allows our special needs private tutors to help your child in the best way for them.
All of our private SEN tutors hold up to date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), or Enhanced Disclosure Scotland’s which we check very closely. The DBS are an executive agency of the Home Office which vets applications for people who want to work with children and vulnerable people. We interview and obtain 2 references for every private tutor; one work reference and one character reference. Many of the work referees have worked with the tutor in a teaching environment so they can provide us with valuable insight into the way the tutor works with children. The character referee can also help us determine whether an SEN tutor is suitable to work with children for private tuition due to their characteristics. All of our tutors are screened very closely by our Tutor Support team.
